Oof, it’s been a minute. Although the air has cleared and fires died down a bit, we are still stuck at home due to closures and what not. Not much road tripping or camping unfortunately. This week has been surreal. Labor Day night was spent scrambling trying to figure out what to pack and do we have room for XYZ in the car. Once we got thing in order (more or less), the waiting game has began. With every alert on the phone, my heart skipped a beat and questioned if “it’s time to load up and go?!” We are beyond lucky the fire slowed down by city limits. The winds have died down, the temps have dropped, that soothing moisture has slowly come back to the air, and hopefully some predicted rains next week will bring much needed containment. Although it’s just smoke and red sun here, it’s still very much a scorched earth and heartbreak for so many just a stone throw away. Please stay safe and look out for each other.
